Busy week on the blog front with the NFL's return, but we wanted to make sure to get in some semblance of an Orioles Report for consistency sake. We shot for a little less stats and a little more anecdote with this go-round, let us know what you think!

One More Loss to LA
Baltimore was a Colton Cowser bomb away from the box score reflecting just how completely outmatched they were in the rubber match against LA. Cade Povich got shelled as Bobby Miller stifled the Birds' bats right from the jump. An ominous beatdown at the hands of a team many felt could be a potential World Series opponent.
Threesome at Coors Field
Crazy that this was the first time the O's have played a weekend series in Colorado in like, 30 years. Forgive me for not having that exact date.
Albert Suarez was dominant in game one, giving up just 2 earned runs over a career high seven innings. It's worth reiterating how essential he's been to the team's success. Zach Eflin deserves a ton of shine as well, securing the win in the final game of this set with a masterful seven innings after just returning from the IL. Last month would've been a free fall without those two righties.
It's been great seeing Cedric Mullins round back into form after suffering through one of the sadder first halves of the season you'll ever see. His recent offense has been huge. Gunnar seems to slowly be remembering how to hit too, if only Adley could get on board.
Craig Kimbrel is still very bad and Seranthony Dominguez needs to stop giving up solo home runs. He's given up 5 in just 15 innings since coming down from Philadelphia. Not good for a guy who sees a ton of high leverage situations.
A Set vs. the ChiSox
This series got off on a bad foot, thanks to a shaky first from Corbin Burnes that had Baltimore in a 2-0 hole before getting to bat. Luckily, the ace managed to settle in and maneuver through 5 frames, earning a win as the offense exploded for 13 runs against the dramatically inferior opponent.
An apology is owed to Austin Slater. While he hasn't even been that good, Slater has been a catalyst for a few rallies of late. Couldn't have been much lower on him after the trade acquisition, but he's pulled his weight in some critical moments.
Take it with a grain of salt, but what a flash of brilliance from Cade Povich in the middle game of this series. 7.1 shutout innings and 10 strikeouts, each career highs, plus a big goose egg in the walk column. Super encouraging display from a promising arm that's been knocked around some.
We'll come full circle to wrap up this article. It sucked seeing Suarez get lit up yesterday, by the White Sox of all opponents. I suppose they weren't going to keep losing forever, but it was concerning seeing the lineup get bullied by Jonathan Cannon and his 4.53 ERA.

2. New York Yankees (80-60)
3. Boston Red Sox (70-70)
