Fantasy Football Thoughts + Top 200 Downloadable

Pardon, while I wipe the tear from my eye. Fantasy football is back and we cannot wait for another great season. As always, we've whipped up our Top 200 players, as well as our Top 40 by Positions, per 1/2 point PPR rules, which can be downloaded off this link. Feel free to use that for any and all drafts, spread the love with your friends too.

On top of that, we've got some guys we're high and low on, as well as some sleepers to discuss. Let's talk turkey.

Must Haves and High Values

Jayden Daniels- I'm drinking the Commander Kool-Aid. After dazzling throughout camp and the preseason, the generally incompetent franchise made the correct call and named the #2 pick as their starter. He's athletic as hell, has a beautiful deep ball and, simply put, is a competitor. Daniels has top five fantasy potential at QB, currently going in the low teens.

Bijan Robinson- After crashing this hype train last season, we're back on board for another go round with Bijan. The kid managed to rack up 1463 total yards with the likes of Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke to keep defensive fronts at bay. A healthy Kirk Cousins under center plus a full offseason in a pro workout regiment have him creeping up toward 1:1 on our boards.

Drake London- This dude almost cleared 1,000 yards with that aforementioned, terrible quarterback duo passing him the ball. Cousins may lack the clutch gene, but he helps WR1's produce. Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison...even KJ Osborn. Another top 10 talent falling into the mid-teens.

Dalton Kincaid- Somebody has to catch the ball in Buffalo. Period. Kincaid showed improved rapport with Josh Allen as his rookie year went and now should be thrust into a prime pass catching role with a largely untested group of receivers around him. Confidently take him over the likes of George Kittle, Evan Engram or Dallas Goedert.

James Conner- It's not always pretty out in the desert, but James Conner puts up numbers. Now that Kyler Murray is back at the helm, it should be full steam ahead for this offense-- albeit a modest ceiling there. Conner's currently going in the 20's range as far as running backs go, but is set to get another full workload with a pretty decent group. Great value there.

Gus Edwards- Workhorse back in a Jim Harbaugh offense that boasts a force of an offensive line, a nice spot to find yourself historically. JK Dobbins will cut into his work, and could be the actual back to own out in LA, but his extensive history of injuries scares me off. The Gus Bus just feels like a safer pick, especially with some publications ranking him as low as RB40.

Ladd McConkey- Staying with the Chargers here and their exciting, rookie slot man out of Georgia. After the team let long-time receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen go, Justin Herbert will need to pass to somebody. DJ Chark is more of a big play guy, as is Quentin Johnston-- on the few occasions the ball doesn't bounce off his hands. McConkey should evolve into a safety blanket for Herbert, emerging as a real PPR machine.

TJ Hockenson- Sam Darnold may suck, but there's a ton of pass catching talent in Minnesota and their defense isn't going to be great. Plenty of quality game scripts for a guy like TJ Hockenson, who still nearly eclipsed 1K with Jaren Hall, Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullens throwing him the ball for 2/3's of a season. He won't be ready for the first few weeks, but there's way worse flyers to take in round 13.

Not Worth It or Not Good

Justin Herbert- Herbert falls in the Not Worth It category here. A really shaky arsenal of weapons and a coach with a penchant for running the ball potentially spells another tough stint for the Oregon alum. Herbert's more than talented enough to produce in spite of these obstacles, but give me Tua or Jared Goff at that similar ADP.

Zack Moss- Moss surprised many last year with a competent showing in Indianapolis. On paper, Cincinnati's an even better situation for the back, but how set is he to lock down the job? With a pass-happy approach and a dynamic second-year back in Chase Brown breathing down his neck, Moss isn't on the radar.

Tank Dell- For the record, Tank's awesome. But he's coming off an ACL tear, while the team added Stefon Diggs in the offseason to inevitably cut into his target share. Lot of mouths to feed down in Houston, let me get Amari Cooper, Christian Kirk or Terry McLaurin instead for this price.

Mike Williams- The former Charger is a big time deep threat and nearly equivalent health risk. A-Rod is 40, returning from a torn Achilles of his own and didn't throw the ball deep effectively the year prior to that in Green Bay. Williams just doesn't seem like a good fit in this offense, outside of a few splash plays here and there.

Pat Freiermuth- Presumed starting quarterback Russell Wilson has never been fond of tight ends, nor has Justin Fields. With a newly revamped offensive line, expect Pittsburgh to commit to running the ball early and often while finding George Pickens on the outside enough to keep him content. Freiermuth will probably be decent, but a low ceiling.

Sleepers

Sam Darnold- Sink or swim, right? It's not a perfect situation up in Minnesota, but Darnold's got some weapons to work with. He could earn himself some money with a solid showing, which would result in some fantasy points along the way.

Eric Gray- The second year back's had a stand-out preseason for the G-Men. While we're not low on Devin Singletary, he's certainly replaceable if Gray decides to pop.

Nick Chubb- This man's still a stud in an offense that could be pretty good. While Chubb may miss a few weeks easing back into things from his week two ACL tear, expect him to be full-steam ahead once he does return. I'd happily park him on my bench for a couple games rather than drafting the likes of Tony Pollard or Austin Ekeler.

DJ Chark- Chark's been a big play receiver wherever he's gone and should have a clear opportunity to shine in LA. If he can stay healthy, he's going to get plenty of burn for this Chargers team, with a skillset that should mesh nicely with Justin Herbert.

Xavier Gipson- A shifty little catch-and-run who finds space and can make plays with the ball in his hands. Very Randall Cobb-esque. If it's round 15 or 16, Gipson's an interesting piece to consider for a Jets team that has some fluidity on the depth chart. He also returns kicks too, contributing the occasional, random touchdown from that route.

Theo Johnson- Darren Waller's retirement left a hole in the tight end room in New York, which many assume will be filled by Daniel Bellinger. While we're fan's of Belly's game, Theo Johnson is the real sleeper to keep an eye on. The rookie's a 6'6", do-it-all tight end that could entrench himself as the team's TE1 with a strong start to 2024.
