More and more improvements on the farm, as we're starting to see a few lineups shuffled about with promotions and demotions abound. Don't be surprised to see a name in an unexpected section in the coming weeks!
It was a fun couple of series across the board though, with more success than not. Leading off in Norfolk...
Norfolk Tides
Tied series vs. Gwinnett Stripers 3-3
-The Norfolk 3 and a Third: It's not the development that we were hoping for, but Jackson Holliday's back on the farm as of Saturday, rejoining his Tide teammates. Just a few days before that news broke, we got wind that Heston Kjerstad was going up to the big show, although we've yet to see much of him there. Exciting to see our big names starting to boil upward and break through.
-Coby Mayo: 5-21, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R, 5 BB, 6 K
-Connor Norby: 4-23, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB, 13 K
-Kyle Stowers: 6-23, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 6 K
-Jackson Holliday (2 games): 1-8, 1 BB, 1 K
-Hudson Haskin's back up at Norfolk, going 3-15 in his first 4 games back. He did rack up 7 strikeouts during that stretch, which he'll need to cut down on
-Fellow outfielder Billy Cook got his first taste of AAA action, hitting 4 singles in his 16 at bats for the Tides
-Maverick Handley staying productive, posting a .285/1/4 line on the week. He also suffered a Golden Sombrero on Thursday to stay humble, bouncing back strong over the weekend
-John Means was rough on Tuesday, giving up 7 hits and 3 earned through just 4.1, but he bounced back strong to end the week-- going 7 shutout innings with 8 strikeouts, allowing just 2 baserunners. It hasn't always been pretty for Means, but it's time to see him back up in Camden
-Another farm report, another positive update on the state of Cade Povich. 4.2 innings Thursday, allowing 1 earned on 3 hits and a walk with 7 strikeouts. His ERA through the first month of the season is a pristine 1.03. They won't be able to keep him down in the minors if he sustains this excellence
-2.1 frames of scoreless relief from Nick Vespi, surrendering just 1 hit. He should be recalled sooner than later with Baltimore's bullpen issues

-Like Means, Kyle Bradish shined in his final rehab start, giving up just 1 run on 5 hits through 5 innings, earning a decision win for his efforts. Time to see how he can follow up his stellar 2023 on the major league circuit
-Justin Armbruester followed Bradish up with his best showing of the year, pitching the final 4 while allowing just 1 hit and 3 walks. Hopefully some momentum he can build upon
-Shakiest outing we've seen from Chayce McDermott thus far, walking 3 and giving up 1 hit while failing to escape the first
Bowie Baysox
Lost series vs. Richmond Flying Squirrels 2-4
-Samuel Basallo brought the big bat this week, posting a .300/2/3 line, with both bombs coming Sunday. He also collected his first walk of the season on Wednesday!
-Silas Ardoin separated himself some in the race for top catcher at Bowie, going 4-12 at the plate with 5 walks and just one strikeout
-Best series of John Rhodes' season so far, ripping .294 with 2 long balls and 5 driven in. The 2021 3rd rounder has managed to maintain his positive walk to strikeout ratio too

-TT Bowens has been a really tough out in 2024, collecting a hit in all 4 appearances while contributing 4 RBI
-Not Frederick Bencosme's most productive week, batting just .181 on the series, but he did manage to bring in 4
-Seth Johnson's week: 6.1 IP across 2 starts, 8 hits, 4 walks, 7 runs (4 earned) and 7 K's. Room to improve, needless to say
-Much improved performance from Carlos Tavera, coming in for long relief after Johnson twice. In total, he gave up 4 hits over 8.2 frames, allowing 4 hits, 3 walks and 1 earned run, adding 10 strikeouts
-Alex Pham also put his best work on display, giving up 3 earned runs on 3 hits and 3 walks across 5 innings, punching out 6 along the way. Only a matter of time until he started finding his footing
-Ryan Long was forcing some whiffs on Thursday, striking out 7 across 4 scoreless frames
-A perfect 3 innings to open up the weekend was a welcome sight from Brandon Young. He managed to strikeout 7 of the 9 outs he recorded
-Two scoreless appearances from Houston Roth, improving his ERA to a clean 1.08
Aberdeen Ironbirds
Won series vs. Jersey Shore Blue Claws 5-1
-3 more stolen bases for Tavian Josenberger, bringing him up to 14 on the season. He also had 9 hits and 5 RBI against the Blue Claws
-Matthew Etzel stayed scorching, going 10-21 on the week with 5 RBI, 5 XBH and long ball. Dude's going to be pushing for a promotion here soon
-Strong series from last year's 20th rounder Jalen Vasquez, playing in all 6 games and finishing with .350/1/4 line, plus 4/4 on swiped bags
-Ryan Higgins hit Jersey Shore pitchers well, ripping .354 in 5 games with 2 driven in
-Cameron Weston stayed sharp, walking 3 and giving up 1 hit across 4.2 shutout frames. He deservedly has earned a promotion to Bowie
-Yaqui Rivera continues to project as a strong relief prospect, allowing just 1 walk across 2.1 IP. Like the aforementioned Houston Roth, he's also rocking a 1.08 ERA
-Awesome midweek start out of Jackson Baumeister, going 4.2 scoreless with 4 K's
-Juan Nunez and Moises Chace were masterful Thursday, combining for a 5 hit shutout. They've each been consistently great all 2024, posting 1.72 and 1.20 earned run averages, respectively
-20-year old Deivy Cruz was great for Delmarva last year and has carried that over to Aberdeen, surrendering just 2 earned runs over 8.2
Delmarva Shorebirds
Lost series vs. Fredericksburg FredNats 1-5
-3 straight shutouts to start off this six game set definitely wasn't what the Shorebirds had in mind
-Strong week out of Anderson de los Santos, posting a .292/1/3 line
-Dougie Hodo also went yard for the Shorebirds, as part of a 4-19 series
-Thomas Sosa went 5-23 against the FredNats, swiping 2 bags and providing an RBI
-Tremendous two outings from Braxton Bragg, totaling 6.2 IP with 12 K's and no earned runs. Last year's 8th rounder is settling into his role out of the pen
-3.2 more innings of scoreless work from Jacob Cravey. He's surrendered just 1 earned through 14.2 innings pitched in his first pro season
-Blake Money got back on track with 4 shutout innings on his Thursday start
-Excellence on the bump from Luis de Leon Friday, striking out 8 and allowing just 1 unearned run through 5.2
-Randy Beriguete was solid in relief of de Leon, recording 4 outs without giving up a run, lowering his ERA to a sharp 1.29
