NFL Week Four Fantasy Starts, Sits and Sleepers

Week four, pleasure to meet you. Feels like we're starting to get a better feel for some trends to ride with as the season's gone along here. Time to translate some of that to fantasy.

Make sure to remember! London game this week, have rosters checked by 9:30 AM EST or risk starting a scrub. And we don't want no scrubs.

Starts

Russell Wilson @ Chicago: The Bears have one of the sadder defensive groups in the league, with the Broncos D being right there with him. Could be some points in this game, and Russ has been modestly sharp to kick off the year. Nice discount play here

Justin Herbert vs. Las Vegas: As long as Austin Ekeler's out, Justin Herbert will be shouldering more of the load on offense. More than capable shoulders for such responsibility to fall upon. He could top 400 again with the crappy Raiders coming to town

Kenneth Walker @ New York Giants: Walker seems to be getting into his groove behind this Seattle front, bad timing for the Giants-- a bottom five run defense. This game should always be in reach for the Seahawks, translating into plenty of carries for the second year back. He should shine. Zach Charbonnet's an interesting deep play too.

D'Andre Swift vs. Commanders: D'Andre Swift went to Kenneth Gainwell and Rashaad Penny last week and said:

The Eagles should handle Washington, which should give Swift plenty of volume to explode with, once again

Michael Pittman Jr. vs. Los Angeles Rams: Pittman's really emerged as an elite receiver this season, helping to elevate both Anthony Richardson and Gardner Minshew. He'll be working with the former this week, against a Rams defense that just allowed a hobbled Joe Burrow to work them pretty good-- at least to their top wideout. Seven catches and a score, feels like a floor.

Brandon Aiyuk vs. Arizona: The Cardinals can't stop the run, so expect a heavy dose of Christian McCaffery, but Shanahan's going to have the ball thrown around some too. Deebo's not 100%, while Aiyuk should be very rested after a week off. Look for a big start and relaxing fourth quarter for Brock Purdy's favorite wideout

Keenan Allen vs. Las Vegas: No Mike Williams, 18 catches last week, horrible Raiders secondary. Fire Allen up with a smile

Pat Freiermuth @ Houston: The Texans have given up some big plays to tight ends, plus Pittsburgh will be missing Diontae Johnson again out wide. Freiermuth isn't a flashy play, but he's got a safe floor for this thin position

Travis Kelce and George Kittle: Your never bench these guys, but for DFS purposes, these two are primed to deliver on their prices. The Jets and Cardinals, who these two are respectively playing, don't defend the tight end well at all, boosting the stocks of two guys who are already focal points

Sits

Matthew Stafford @ Indianapolis: Not sure how much longer the Colts' defense is going to be flying under the radar. There aren't a ton of huge names, but they're playing really well as a unit. DeForest Buckner, one of the big names they do boast, should be in Stafford's face a lot, really impacting how effectively he can get the ball down field. Not a matchup I like for him

Baker Mayfield @ New Orleans: Baker loves a rivalry, so this could end up looking silly in a few hours, but I think this'll be an ugly game all around. Marshon Lattimore's going to be taking away his favorite target, they shouldn't be able to move the ball well on the ground. Better waiver options for league play, far better DFS looks

Brian Robinson @ Philadelphia: The Eagles are allowing 48.3 YPG on the ground and are going to trust their corners on islands to stack the box. Unless he gets involved in the pass game, absolutely brutal forecast for Robinson

Joe Mixon @ Tennessee: Hard to say if Tennessee truly locks down opposing running backs, or if it's just so easy to attack them in the passing game that it's not worth forcing the issue with the run. Regardless of the answer to that, Mixon's going to be bottled up by a ferocious front seven

Mike Evans @ New Orleans: As I said above with Baker: Marshon Lattimore. I love Mike Evans, but he's as likely to get into a fight on the field as he is to top the century mark. I always try to take a bold swing or two in this section, he just feels like the one this week

Deandre Hopkins vs. Cincinnati: No Treylon Burks, which means the Bengals can fully key in on Nuk. Throw in the fact that Ryan Tannehill is still his quarterback...tough start. I guess they'll likely be trailing for majority of the game?

Dallas Goedert vs. Washington: The Commanders are T-3rd best versus tight ends, handing Dallas Goedert a tough assignment out of the gate. Regardless of the matchup, Goedert hasn't been heavily targeted by Jalen Hurts through the first three, in favor of Devonta Smith and AJ Brown. Don't expect this to be the week that changes

Jake Ferguson vs. Patriots: Washington's tied with New England for that third against the position. While not a household name, Ferguson has been a reliable player for fantasy. He'll probably rack up a few checkdowns to salvage a day in PPR formats, but lower ceiling than usual for the Cowboys' TE1

Sleepers

Aidan O'Connell @ Los Angeles Chargers: Tons of buzz around the rookie in training camp, now bubbling higher as he jumped Brian Hoyer on the depth chart to make his first career start. The Chargers have a generous defense, that'll now be missing Joey Bosa. As fun of a sleeper as we've had all season, could be a dice worth rolling

Elijah Mitchell vs. Arizona: This game could be out of hand early, prompting Kyle Shanahan to logically rest his RB1 Christian McCaffery late. That could put Elijah Mitchell in line for no less than a dozen carries, against a bad run D. If Mitchell doesn't play due to an ailing knee, then you could throw Jordan Mason out there with similar expectations

Curtis Samuel @ Philadelphia: Sam Howell's going to be running for his life from the Eagles pass rush. He'll be keeping Curtis Samuel on speed dial underneath to help bail himself out, with the receiver adding some yards after catch threat too

Noah Fant @ New York Giants: Or Colby Parkinson if Fant doesn't suit up. The Giants are giving up lots of yards to tight ends; really lots of yards in general. And points, a lot of points... Plenty of work to be shared!
