Phillies Report: Week 15

The Phillies finish their past week of baseball with a 4-3 record over 7 games. They took 3 of 4 from the Padres at home and lost 2 of 3 against the Brewers at home. Over the 7 games for the week, they were outscored by opponents 32-34. The week overall was a minor success. They displayed an impressive ability to come from behind and win in the Padres series, and the Brewers series was characterized by the offense being kept at bay. They are 5-5 in their last 10 games and moved into 2nd place in the NL East, with a 52-44 record.

They currently occupy the third and final wild card position, although the Marlins are right on their tail. The next week will be crucial in maintaining a playoff berth, and will be the last full week prior to the August 1 trade deadline. The upcoming week could also feature Bryce Harper’s debut at first base, which will be pivotal in determining who to target at the deadline.
