Week 12 Starts, Sits and Sleepers
I sit here typing this in H-Town at 9:30 AM with a white Monster and Natty light can on deck. #Vacation
That being said, time is of the essence! So this'll be a turbo blog as well, same as our week 12 preview. We'll have a little more depth for y'all next week. But for today, let's get into things:
Starts
Justin Herbert @ ARI: No weather conditions to account for, WR1 Keenan Allen is back, Arizona gives up the second most points per game. Even without Mike Williams playing, the Chargers should move the ball through the air with ease. Fire up Herbie for at least 300 yards and 3+ tuddys.
Jeff Wilson vs. HOU: Worst rushing defense in the league going up against one of the hottest backs since arriving in Miami. It's gonna be the Jeff Wilson show down in South Beach, fire him up confidently in any capacity you can-- 120 and a score is the floor.
Tee Higgins @ TEN: Cake matchup for him against a Tennessee secondary that was already bad and getting less healthy. With Ja'Marr Chase officially out, the passing game is going to run through Higgins. He should easily clear the century mark and find the end zone.
Gerald Everett @ ARI: Arizona gives up the most fantasy points to tight ends. With the aforementioned Mike Williams out, Gerald Everett and Josh Palmer are primed to absorb some targets. And with how terrible the Cards are at defending the position, I think Everett will be the main benefactor. He should be a top end TE1 Sunday.
Sits
Trevor Lawrence vs. BAL: Tough matchup against a Ravens defense that's allowing opponents just 14.5 PPG over the course of their four game winning streak. The weather isn't looking supreme in Duval either, which doesn't do the QB any favors. Expect them to try and establish Travis Etienne on the ground too, drastically lowering Lawrence's ceiling.
Dameon Pierce @ MIA: We love Dameon Pierce here, so this isn't a shot at him. But Miami should get up early and stay up, priming the Houston RB1 for a horrific game script. Chances are good you may not have a viable replacement for him, so you can at least hang your hat on the volume he should receive. Just don't expect hefty results.
DJ Moore vs. DEN: DJ Moore, meet Patrick Surtain II. The Panthers' top receiver showed good rapport with Sam Darnold in the early going last season, but this should be a low-scoring, ugly game. A windy, wet day won't do him any favors either. Tough sledding for the former Terp.
Juwan Johnson vs. SF: Johnson has been awesome the last five games, averaging 3.4 catches and a touchdown per contest. San Francisco is a different devil though on defense and should give Andy Dalton a ton of trouble in the pocket. Even if Johnson does snag a few check downs, we don't anticipate that they'll be productive ones.
Sleepers
Taylor Heinicke vs. ATL: A bit hesitant with the rainy conditions in Landover, but Heinicke is due for a big game and Atlanta has a defense that can facilitate that. Potential for a fun, relatively high scoring game that I think the Commanders quarterback will produce in. 250 yards plus multiple scores is very in play, with one possibly one on the ground.
Isiah Pacheco vs. LAR: The Rams are likely to get down early, meaning lots of carries for Pacheco to ice clock. He should get at least twenty touches in this one, probably finding the end zone at some point.
Donovan Peoples-Jones vs. TB: DPJ has quietly recorded 61+ yards in six of his last seven games and is squaring off against a pretty shitty Tampa secondary. If Brissett can continue his run of competence, then Peoples-Jones should be able to continue that streak Sunday. 6/60 is on the table, not bad in a pinch.
Mike Gesicki vs. HOU: As horrible as Houston's been, their secondary has actually been a relatively bright spot. Losing Derek Stingley Jr won't help their case, but the unit as a whole may be sneakily competitive versus the Dolphins elite wideouts. Look for Mike Gesicki to get a little extra work over the middle as a result.
