NFL Week 7 Fantasy Starts, Sits and Sleepers

Week 7 Fantasy Starts, Sits and Sleepers

Week 7 here we come! With Buffalo, Minnesota, Philly and the Rams all on bye this week, there's a ton of holes to fill in many a fantasy roster. You're in the right spot though if you need a last minute push in either direction with some of these guys. We've only got a few hours til kickoff, so let's get into it:

Starts
Dak Prescott vs. DET: Welcome back Dakota, it's been a while. Right in time for a date with the worst defense in the league. All of his receiving weapons are healthy also, making this really the first game we'll see the big D at full strength offensively. The extra rest Cooper Rush afforded Prescott should pay dividends with him coming out ready to roll vs. this bad Lions unit. Pencil him in for four touchdowns.

Derek Carr vs. HOU: Both of these teams are coming off of byes, so this should be a high energy matchup. The Raiders seem to finally be figuring out that the more you target Davante Adams, the more successful your offense will be. I think this'll be a high scoring game and that Carr paces the way for Vegas under center.

Rhamondre Stevenson vs. CHI: The bell-cow in New England gets another opponent with a bottom five rush defense. Mac Jones will be back in this one, but not at 100%. There could be some iffy weather in Foxborough to deal with as well, so expect the Pats to lean heavily on their running back to take the pressure off of the quarterback. Stevenson further cements his RB1 title.

Leonard Fournette @ CAR: This has to be a statement win for the Bucs. They've sleepwalked through these first six weeks and are pretty fortunate to be 3-3 overall. Carolina is a gutted franchise at the moment, and Tom Brady needs to smell that blood in the water. Fournette should get over 20 carries and 6+ catches as the Bucs eviscerate the overmatched Panthers in Carolina.

Jaylen Waddle vs. PIT: Miami's #2 receiver finally had a big game last week after two dormant performances sans Tua. With his QB back in the mix, Waddle should return to fantasy prominence. The Dolphins need to show up Sunday night after three straight losses, with #17 being the benefactor. 7/100/1 is the floor here.

Brandin Cooks @ LV: Las Vegas has struggled to contain teams through the air this year. Brandin Cooks was supposed to be the Texans WR1, but hasn't really delivered yet. I think this is his breakout game, clearing the century mark for the first time this season and adding a touchdown. His running mate Nico Collins probably has a respectable game too.

Hayden Hurst vs. ATL: Hayden Hurst has had a pretty productive campaign for the Bengals. He'll be squaring off against the Falcons who've allowed the 4th most points to tight ends. AJ Terrell is banged up and will pull more help on Ja'Marr Chase. This should open some intermediate opportunities for Hurst, who should notch a couple catches for 50+ yards and a score.

Sits
Russell Wilson vs. NYJ: He's officially a game time decision (now out), so you may not have a choice but to sit him. If you were starting him though...I don't envy the sad train you've been riding these first six weeks. Russ has been awful and is going up against a pretty imposing Jets defense, featuring elite rookie Sauce Gardner. Throw in the fact that Wilson's less then 100% and you're far better looking at other options.

Ryan Tannehill vs. IND: Probably a guy not on too many rosters, but bye weeks sometimes force us to dig deep into the waivers. The Colts defense has been solid against the pass and the Titans don't really have a great group of receivers. Tennessee will pound Derrick Henry in the running game too, meaning less opportunities to strike through the air.

James Robinson vs. NYG: After a torrid start to the year, the Jags lead back has tailed off of late. To make matters worse, his backfield partner Travis Etienne has really started to shine. The Giants are tough all around on defense and should limit the space Robinson has to work with.

Jeff Wilson vs. KC: For the record, I had Wilson on this list prior to the CMC trade. The Chiefs have allowed the 4th fewest rushing yards and have the potential to dictate the pace with their own offense. It wasn't a good forecast for Jeff. Now with McCaffery in the mix, he's nearly droppable. Last week of relevancy for him probably for the rest of this year, barring multiple injuries.

DJ Moore vs. TB: PJ Walker under center. I'm not sure I need to say any more. No Panthers' skill player is of use this weekend.

Courtland Sutton vs. NYJ: Whoever is at quarterback for the Broncos is going to be dealing with pressure in the pocket and solid coverage on the outside. Sutton may be able to salvage his day with a touchdown but I don't expect a lot of volume for the big bodied receiver. He hasn't been delivering for you lately and that isn't going to change Sunday afternoon.

Robert Tonyan @ WAS: Popular name here after he popped against the Jets (he also was our sleeper TE of the week). Tougher matchup this week against the Commanders who've given up the 4th fewest fantasy points to the TE position. He may snag a couple of short passes for you but don't anticipate a ton more out of Tonyan.

Sleepers
Davis Mills @ LV: Davis Mills really hasn't had a big game this year. We didn't expect him to have many, but he was due for an occasional monster performance in 2021. Coming off a bye and playing in the warm weather of Las Vegas vs. a subpar defense provides him just that opportunity. Look for him to clear 300 passing with 2+ touchdowns.

Kenyan Drake vs. CLE: JK Dobbins is set to miss a few weeks now with his knee flaring up, opening the door for Kenyan Drake to try and piggyback on a solid performance from a week ago. A showdown against a Browns team that's weak against the run game will certainly aid his efforts. He's likely not been available on waiver for a few weeks now, but if he's been on your bench feel free to fire him up confidently in this matchup.

Noah Brown vs. DET: Brown was a favorite of Cooper Rush while Michael Gallup was still sidelined. Even with Gallup back, this matchup against Detroit's swiss cheese secondary should provide plenty of yards for the gettin' for Dallas receivers. If Brown is able to secure a little volume, a big play and score isn't out of the question. And isn't that all we ask from most true sleepers?

Daniel Bellinger @ JAX: New York's rookie tight end has averaged just over 10.5 PPG the last three games. Jacksonville is solid against the run, which may force Daniel Jones to pass more. His tight end could provide a nice safety blanket, especially in the red zone. Look for 5+ targets for the Bellinger here.
