Week 0 Power Rankings

Correspondent Kevin's Week 0 Power Rankings

*List was made prior to the ass whooping Buffalo put on the Rams Thursday night*

1.    Buffalo Bills
One of if not the most loaded roster in the league and a Super Bowl favorite. Led by MVP candidate quarterback Josh Allen, the uber talented Bills are balanced on offense with skill players Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox, Gabriel Davis and Devin Singletary. Throw in rookie runner James Cook (younger brother of Dalvin Cook) and a stout offensive line spearheaded by Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins and grizzled veteran guard Rodger Saffold, the Bills should be ready to roll. Two questions facing the Bills: How will they adjust to the departure of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll? And will the defense be able to generate a pass rush?

2.    Los Angeles Rams
Looking to defend their title, the Rams still boast one of the deepest and most gifted rosters in the league. The Ram front four remains one of the most feared in the league led by All World defensive lineman Aaron Donald, solid yet steady pass rusher Leonard Floyd and sturdy run stopper A’Shawn Robinson. The Rams also boast All Pro caliver players and the other two levels of the defense with former Seattle Seahawk linebacker Bobby Wagner and defensive back Jalen Ramsey. On offense, they still boast Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp, have brought in Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson and return quarterback Matt Stafford. Questions facing the Rams: Will they be able to run the football efficiently with Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson? Will there be a Super Bowl hangover?
3.    Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The King has returned. Well, the King never actually left. Tom Brady is back for season 23 and no one is happier than the Buccaneer receiving corp. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin (off an injury) and Julio Jones look to lead Tampa Bay back on a deep playoff run after an early exit in 2021. The defense returns arguably the best linebacking corps in the league, led by Devin White, long time Buccaneer Lavonte David and pass rush specialist Shaq Barrett. Questions facing the Bucs: who outside of Mike Evans will be a threat? How will the offensive line adjust to the loss of tough as nails center Ryan Jensen? And can the playoff Lenny make an appearance in the regular season?
4.    Cincinnati Bengals
On paper, the defending AFC Champion Bengals did nothing but upgrade, especially along the offensive line. La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras lead a revamped offensive line that was embarrassed in Super Bowl 56. The Bengals sport arguably the best trio of receivers in the league with reigning OROY Ja’Marr Chase, solid 1A Tee Higgins, and durable and dependable Tyler Boyd in the slot. Quarterback Joe Burrow will look to build upon the Super Bowl run in 2022 after recovery from his knee injury scare in the Super Bowl. Questions facing the Bengals: How will the offensive line gel? Can the defense duplicate the pressure generated in 2021 with the loss of players like Larry Ogunjobi? Is Zac Taylor for real? Or did they catch lightning in a bottle? Can the Bengals improve what was a pedestrian running game?
5.    Denver Broncos
It was never a question of did the Broncos have the defensive or skill players necessary to make a legitimate playoff run, it was the quarterback position. Since the departure of Peyton Manning, it has been a revolving door at quarterback. Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco and so on. Enter Russell Wilson, the Super Bowl winner, and future Hall of Famer from Seattle. Paired with Cortland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Javonte Williams, Melvin Gordon and a real offensive line paired with the returning number 3 overall defense from 2021 Denver is poised to get over the playoff hump for the first time since winning Super Bowl 50. Questions facing the Broncos: How will first time head coach Nathaniel Hackett fair in a brutal division? Will the Broncos get the necessary explosive plays from Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton?
6.    Kansas City Chiefs
Never to be discounted, the Chiefs will remain a tough out in a loaded AFC. Led by Hall of Fame head coach Andy Reid and star Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs will look to capture their 7th consecutive AFC West Championship. The Chiefs will look to rookie Skyy Moore (Western Michigan) and veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster to help offset the loss of Tyreek Hill.  Questions facing the Chiefs: how will the offense look following the trade Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins? Will the Chiefs be able to make stops on defense when they need them the most?

7.    Green Bay Packers
The 3-time defending NFC North Champions look to remain among the NFL’s elite in 2022. Led by back-to-back MVP Aaron Rodgers, the Packers will look to continue their regular season success minus top tier wide receiver Davante Adams (Las Vegas). While the loss of Adams will hurt, the return of Pro Bowl left tackle David Bakhtiari should help to further solidify an already steady offensive line that includes Pro Bowl right tackle Elgton Jenkins and former 6th round pick Jon Runyan (son of former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl right tackle Jon Runyan) now entrenched at left guard. Questions for the Packers: Will the Packers pass rush have the same juice without Za’Darius Smith? Is this the year we see Rashaan Gary pop? Do players like Allen Lazard and Christian Watson step up in the absence of Davante Adams?
8.    Las Vegas Raiders
Yes, the Raiders on a top 10 list. Upgrading at both Head Coach (Josh McDaniels) and adding star wide receiver DaVante Adams to pair with Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow were the headlines. What got less attention was the addition of Chandler Jones to pair with Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby. These upgrades in the offseason should* allow the Raiders to compete in what will be a gauntlet of an AFC West. Big questions that face the Raiders: How will the offensive line hold up? Kolton Miller has established himself as a solid, starting left tackle along with emerging left guard John Simpson and Andre James who cemented his starting role at center. Right Guard and Right Tackle remain a huge question mark as the Raiders have already parted ways with 2021 first round pick Alex Leatherwood. Second big question is how can the secondary compliment the pass rush? The Raiders were able to add Rock Ya-Sin and Anthony Averett to help bolster the unit.
9.    Los Angeles Chargers
A clean sweep for the AFC West, without question the toughest division in the league. Led by young star quarterback Justin Herbert, receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as well as do it all running back Austin Ekeler, the Chargers should be able to pick off where they left off on offense. The key will be on defense where the Chargers ranked 29th in total defense and gave up 4.6 YPC on the ground. Enter three former Pro Bowl players in Khalil Mack, J.C. Jackson and Kyle Van Noy to help aid the ailing Charger defense. Questions facing the Chargers: How will Brandon Staley fair in Year 2? Will the defense be good enough to complement the offense?
10.    Baltimore Ravens

1)      To round out our Top 10, the Baltimore Ravens. One of the most injured teams in the league from 2021, the Ravens return starters Lamar Jackson, JK Dobbins, Marcus Peters, Marlon Humphrey, Gus Edwards, and Ronnie Stanley at some point this season. When healthy, the Ravens feature the most potent rushing attack in the league lead by former MVP Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are high on their rookie class that could feature as many as 4 key contributors early in the season (1st round picks Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum, 3rd round pick Travis Jones, 4th round pick Isaiah Likely, and 4th round pick Jordan Stout doing the punting). The questions will remain the same for the Ravens entering 2022: Can they generate a pass rush? Odafe Oweh is poised for a breakout 2nd season, A but the Ravens seems to be relying on the returning health of solid and steady Tyus Bowser as well as 2nd round pick David Ojabo. In addition, will they be able to develop a potent passing attack outside of All Pro tight end Mark Andrews?
